Pravana Waves - Yoga and Music @ Healing Delight

As we practice pravana yoga our minds enter into a dance with our bodies. We become integrated via sound, breath and movement to experience the power of connection.

Limited spaces available. Tickets available from HERE

Trudy Radburn is a dancing yogi. She has performed, choreographed, taught and jumped on a mat around the world for over 20 years. Trudy recently founded The Moving Room, a tiny yoga studio in Brunswick and teaches her own ‘moving flow’ vinyasa inspired class to as many people that can squeeze in.

Simon Lewis (aka Pravana) is a professional musician who has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and has spent many years travelling the world performing and recording as Amanaska. Pravana was the result of wanting to create a soundtrack to support yoga practice by calming the mind initially then supporting the movements and rhythms of the body throughout the session, to finish with a peaceful moment for savasana.

100:25:1 with Simon Lewis (aka Amanaska) live and acoustic

Melbourne’s live music scene is one of the best in the world. One reason for the strength of musical expression to emerge from Melbourne comes from the diversity and flexibility of its musicians to work across different scenes. One musician who exemplifies this is woodwind multi-instrumentalist Adam Simmons. During November 2015, Adam will perform 25 concerts with four duets per night with 100 different musicians from rock/pop, jazz, experimental, world, folk, blues, classical, electronica and more.

In addition, Adam will be joined by sound engineer Myles Mumford and Associate Professor John Fitzgerald in creating an installation during the month, illustrating the ways in which the various artists all connect. Myles will be recordings all performances and these will be made available online. This is the beginning of a larger research project for University of Melbourne to create a Melbourne Music Map.

Musica Viva’s Random Acts of Music

Out of the concert halls and into the streets, Musica Viva’s Random Acts of Music will delight and surprise with spontaneous free music.

Each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 May until 22 May, Melbourne’s streets will come to life with the sounds of music, featuring Shrewd BrassAmanaska and Ogham Soup.

World music outfit, Amanaska layer and mash cultures together in new and exciting ways.  Be taken to the Far East with their rhythmic and melodic sounds.  Their performance will feature voice, trumpet, keyboards, sound-mixing and didgeridoo with Simon Lewis, Janine Maunder and Vinod Prasunna.  Groove to their sounds each Wednesday.

Speaking about this exciting new project, Helenka King, Victorian State Manager, Musica Viva says, ‘we want to bring the joy of music to the city streets of Melbourne, to surprise and engage with audiences in a new way.  Some people may never have heard a brass ensemble, expecting something only loud or solemn, or even experienced music close up.  We want to change those perceptions, and of course, make beautiful music for all to enjoy.’
